You don’t want to feel alone

Life isn’t going the way you expect or the way you think it “should” look. You feel like no one quite understands exactly what you’re going through. It’s lonely and you hate feeling this way. You want someone to help get your life or your marriage back on track. You need a guide to help you get “unstuck” and on a road to a more connected life. You’re ready to see the new possibilities in your life.

You’ve come to the right place.

Hi, I’m Rebecca

I’m the owner of Wellness on Willow
Where we grow deep roots & restore relationships.

I help individuals and couples who feel distant and disconnected to find deep and fulfilling relationships. I offer Intensives for Individuals and Couples who want more connection, confidence, and a sense of purpose in their lives.

We use the power of story to bring the transformation you are looking for. We look back to see how you got here and work together to write the next chapter of your story. This is a place where you can feel seen, heard, and truly known.

My Approach

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME

I create a space that feels safe and comfortable to share anything from your story. I do my best to be a “real person” (because who wants to confide in a white coat?) My intention is to share a wise, calm, and compassionate energy. I’m able to see things in your story and make connections that others haven’t. Sometimes one new insight can shift the whole story.

I naturally hold seemingly opposite things at one time...

I have a calming presence, yet I’m fun.

I'm gentle but can also be intense.

I’m very easy going but I also know how to get down to work.

I’m very knowledgeable but I don’t have all the answers.

I’m a professional and I’m still learning.

We are allowed to be more than one thing.

I can hold the seeming contradictions in you & your story too.

THE STORIES THAT SHAPE US

I believe that the stories we tell about who we are, our relationships, and our origin stories matter. They shape the way we see ourselves and the way we experience the world. During the intensive process, I work with you to reflect on and retell your story. It’s not a simple exercise, it holds more power and is far more profound than we realize. It’s my honor to guide you in the story.

In Couples Intensives each person will tell their story to their partner. Even if you have heard the stories a thousand times, there is something different that happens when we work to listen with new ears, looking to understand and respond with compassion and kindness. If you were hurt in a relationship then the best way to heal is in the context of a healthy relationship.

Healing happens when others witness our stories & hold them with us.

GENERATIONAL TRAUMA & THE STORIES THAT CAME BEFORE US

The impact of Generational Trauma is becoming more widely discussed and researched. If you aren’t familiar with it, Generational Trauma is trauma (or adverse experiences) that are passed from one generation to another. This happens unconsciously.

Let me give you an example.

I grew up on the Ohio River and were not allowed to go boating or swimming. It was really disappointing to always miss out on a big part of growing up and the fun that other kids were having.

Many years later, I was traveling in Germany and traveled to one of the cities where my Grandfather had served in World War 2. It was located on the Ruhr River and while I was there, I learned that many U.S. soldiers had drowned in the river during the war. It changed my whole perspective!

Now I understand that my grandfather had probably witnessed drownings and developed a perspective that rivers and swimming are dangerous. He passed that fear down to my father as well. With that new information, my perspective changed. I see now that my dad was doing his best to protect me. I can feel the grief that I missed out and gratitude that my family was offering me safety and protection.

As children are not aware of the dynamics that are happening around us and the reality is that many families do not discuss these types of details. But learning about the stories that came before us can help us to see our story and our future in a new light.

See your story with new eyes so that you can understand yourself & your world in new ways.

I work well with adults who…

  • Feel a deep desire to be seen, heard, & known

  • Are looking for a space free of judgment and full of compassion

  • Do not want to meet with someone in a white lab coat (that’s not me!)

  • Appreciate that I have personal experience with many of the things you’re dealing with

  • Want to explore how their story impacts life as they know it today & how story-telling can lead to a new tomorrow
